at the Bay View Senior Center

Our annual action took place at this month's meeting.

The February meeting was our annual auction. There were 37 members and guests in attendance.  To get things started a few impromptu games were played after a brief business meeting.  Followed the discussion of putting a time capsule together took place.  Items will be collected for the next several months for this capsule (a cardboard box).  Items related to the club and its current members will be put in this box.  At the November 2006 meeting the box will be seal with instructions of not to be opened until 2031 by club members at that time.  Until then the box will be passed along to the club historians.   

Our monthly raffle took place. Fifteen items were raffled off. Special thanks to Andy Dallas, Roy Turner and Javier Arrillaga for their donations of items for the raffle this month.

Thanks to all the members who provided food and beverages for this meeting and for buying all those raffle tickets.

After a short break it was time for the auction. About 75+ items were up for grabs. The items included books, DVD’s, tricks, illusions, a backdrop and a smoke machine. The bidding was spirited and lively. A lot of treasures changed hands as did a lot of cash. All but a few higher priced items sold. Additionally, the club did well, as we received 10% of each sale. Another special thanks to Roy Turner for his donation of a large box of magic and books.  The books were added to the club library and the magic was auctioned off with the club receiving the proceeds.

After the meeting eight members went out for a late night dinner and a bit of fun.
